From Marcus Nispel, the director of such horror classics like “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre” and “Friday the 13th”, and Steven Schneider, the producer of “Insidious” and “Paranormal Activity 1, 2, 3 & 4” comes a new horror film: “Exeter”.marcusnispel

A group of teenagers accidentally release an evil spirit that starts to possess them one by one. The film’s score was composed by Eric Allaman and will also feature music by Quarantine, a heavy metal band from Newbury Park, California. I got to be the music score & soundtrack producer for the film as well as music editor. What a great project! Get prepared to be scared!

the-asylumThe film is being released worldwide with a different title though: “The Asylum”. Here’s the European and Asian market poster for the film. In the U.S. the film will be distributed by DirecTV.

The U.S. premiere for the film took place on Wednesday, June 24th, 2015 at the Silent Movie Theater in Hollywood, CA.

Interesting fact. Exeter used to be titled Backmask because the demon gets released through the process of Backmasking. Backmasking is a recording technique in which a sound or message is recorded backward onto a music track that is meant to be played forward. Once the track is played backward the hidden message is revealed. Which in the case of our the film was a demonic message which released a demon to start possessing all the kids. But you gotta go see the movie! ;)

The film features a great cast of young actors along with Avatar star Stephen Lang.

The soundtrack of the film will be released soon. Along with the debut album from Quarantine.

(music coming here soon).
